We are Corver and Co.

Corver and Co. was established in 2001 by Trevor Corver, after spending 15 years working as a Chartered Accountant in much larger and impersonal firms. Our clients value Trevor’s honest and straightforward advice, something reflected in the fact that most of our new business comes directly from existing client referrals.

Meet Trevor

Trevor Corver has attained multiple qualifications. As a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Practising Accountant and a Registered Tax Agent, Trevor provides our clients with the peace of mind that comes with knowing they are dealing with a professional who conducts himself in all matters with honesty and integrity.

 

Trevor is also a member of the National Tax and Accountant’s Association (NTAA). The NTAA provide Corver and Co. with a wealth of up to date industry and practice information. This information often provides highly relevant references for our client’s issues. By drawing on the NTAA’s network of professional accountants and tax agents from around the country, we are able to ensure you are always receiving the most appropriate advice.

Chartered Accountants

The Chartered Accountant (CA) designation represents the elite of the accounting profession and is recognised world-wide as a sign of high professional and ethical standards. A Chartered Accountant must complete a university degree, the ICAA postgraduate Program, the CA Program combined with three years practical experience with mentoring by a CA in public practice.

 

A Chartered Accountant must follow the Rules and Regulations set out by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, including a Code of Professional Conduct and Professional Standards. Certified Practising Accountants

A Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) must maintain a strict code of conduct as specified by CPA Australia. Being the largest professional body in Australia, a CPA designation is one of the most sought after accounting qualifications available.

 

A Certified Practising Accountant must have completed an undergraduate degree accredited by CPA Australia, complete the CPA postgraduate program, complete a minimum of three years supervised experience and undertake Continuing Professional Development each year.

Registered Tax Agent

A Registered Tax Agent is qualified to prepare income tax returns and transact business on behalf of taxpayers, including GST and Fringe Benefit Tax returns. A Registered Tax Agent is required to service clients within the relevant legislation which includes:

– prepare returns honestly and competently, so that they are true and accurate
– keep up to date with changes in taxation laws and practice
– act professionally in dealing with clients, including the ATO , and
– maintain a good fame and character. A reputation for honesty and integrity is one of the major assets as a tax agent.

 

Using a Registered Tax Agent ensures you that your tax affairs are being attended to in a way that is appropriate for the ATO and provides ease of mind in knowing that it will be done correctly.

NTAA Member

The National Tax and Accountant’s Association (NTAA) is a non-profit organisation existing for educational purposes for it’s members.
